ZaareFolks' handmade baskets are known for their unique design and durability. To ensure they remain beautiful and long-lasting, please follow these care tips:
Basket Care
- Clean with Care: Gently wipe away dust and dirt using a soft, dry cloth. You may use a slightly damp cloth if needed, but avoid using chemical cleaners. This method works particularly well for maintaining the natural texture of a woven basket.
- Maintain Shape: If your woven basket loses its form, lightly mist it with water and carefully reshape it with your hands.
- Protect from Sunlight: Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as it may cause colors to fade. Store or use the basket in shaded areas to retain the vibrant appearance of your handmade basket.
- Keep Dry: Prevent your basket from coming into contact with water. If it does get wet, allow it to air dry naturally, away from heat sources.
Leather Care
- Moisturize Regularly: Apply a suitable leather conditioner periodically to keep leather details soft and prevent cracking.
- Keep Dry: Avoid exposing leather to water. If it gets wet, gently blot it dry with a soft cloth.
Storage Tips
- Store Properly: Store your baskets in a cool, dry place to maintain their natural texture and durability. This is especially important for African woven baskets made with traditional techniques.
- Avoid Stacking Heavy Items: Do not place heavy objects on top of your woven baskets to prevent them from losing their shape.
- Keep Tidy: When not in use, store your baskets clean and organized to ensure their longevity.
By following these simple care instructions, you can enjoy the functionality and natural beauty of your ZaareFolks baskets for years to come.
